JOURNALISM

I started writing about the soldier’s story in 2013 as a Unit Public Affairs Representative with 1st Armored Division. In 2015, I attended the Defense Information School and started writing articles for 1st Cavalry Division.

Since then I’ve written for 1st Cavalry Division, USAG Humphreys, Stars and Stripes, U.S. Army Alaska and 11th Airborne Division. My articles have appeared on the U.S. Army page, Front Page of Stars and Stripes and multiple publications on the internet.

Pentagon to investigate Air Force over KC-46A refueling arm

The Pentagon will investigate the Air Force's handling of the development of a remotely operated boom on its newest refueling tanker, which has been plagued by a host of problems.

The Defense Department’s Inspector General is expected to begin evaluating “whether the Air Force adhered to DOD and Air Force systems engineering processes” during the design and development of the refueling boom on the new Boeing KC-46A Pegasus, the IG’s office said in a statement last week.

Here’s what US service members in Britain need to know about Brexit

The Conservative win in Thursday’s elections all but assured that the United Kingdom will exit the European Union, a move that will have myriad effects on the thousands of U.S. servicemembers and others stationed at military bases in Britain.

Many of the effects depend on whether Britain and the EU strike a deal, and to what extent an agreement keeps trade and movement flowing. A “no-deal” Brexit would create greater uncertainty.

Everything from the food Americans eat to their utility bills and the price of medicines off-base is likely to be affected by Brexit, whatever form it ends up taking, experts say.

British family calls for return of American diplomat’s wife suspected of killing teen

The parents of a British teenager who died in a head-on collision outside a U.S. military communications hub in England are calling for the return of an American diplomat’s wife who police said was behind the wheel of the car that killed him.

“We’re all broken, we’re just utterly shocked and appalled that someone is allowed to get on a plane and avoid our justice system,” Charlotte Charles, the mother of 19-year-old Harry Dunn, who was killed in August outside RAF Croughton, told Sky News on Monday.

US F-15s came close to hitting parachutists, report says

A routine training flight was anything but when two U.S. fighter jets came close to colliding with a pair of parachutists over southern England earlier this year, a report by a British air safety board says.

One of the skydivers, outfitted with a helmet-mounted camera, filmed two F-15s passing under them above Cambridgeshire, said a report released in July by UK Airprox.

The two F-15s, from RAF Lakenheath, were on a routine flight when the near-miss occurred in April, 48th Fighter Wing spokeswoman Sybil Taunton said.

Northern Warfare Training Center preparing Soldiers to become Arctic Experts

This past March the Army released its Arctic Strategy which plans to regain Arctic dominance by implementing improvements to increase readiness in the Arctic. One of the keys to that readiness is the Northern Warfare Training Center.

NWTC is where Soldiers go to learn what it takes to not only survive in up to 40 degrees below zero temperatures, operate in four to five feet of snow and endure winds up to 50 to 60 mph, but also how to succeed and thrive to become experts in the Arctic environment.
